USA Today bestselling author Sawyer Bennett scores big-time with the first novel in a sexy new series hot enough to melt the ice.

Hockey star Alexander Crossman has a reputation as a cold-hearted player on and off the rink. Pushed into the sport by an alcoholic father, Alex isn
t afraid to give fans the proverbial middle finger, relishing his role as the MVP they love to hate. Management, however, isnt so amused. Now Alex has a choice: fix his public image through community service or ride the bench. But Alex refuses to be molded into the Carolina Cold Fury poster boy . . . not even by a tempting redhead with killer curves.

As a social worker, Sutton Price is accustomed to difficult people
like Alex, whos been assigned to help her create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth as part of the teams effort to clean up his image. What she doesnt expect is the arrogant smirk from his perfect lips to stir her most heated fantasies. But Sutton isnt one to cross professional boundariesand besides, Alex doesnt do relationships . . . or does he? The more she sees behind Alexs bad-boy façade, the more Sutton craves the man she uncovers.

Alex is the star of the Raleigh, North Carolina Hockey team Cold Fury. But he hates his life. He hates playing hockey, he hates being in the spotlight and he doesn't care that people (fans) can't stand him. His pissed-off attitude pisses everyone off.

I hate this fucking shit . . . the adulation, the limelight . . . all of it

And now the suits of the team want to polish his image by putting him together with drug counselor Sutton. They're supposed to start an outreach programm for at-risk youth.
Alex is all for giving for charity. But he hates that he's being forced to do it.
And he hates that he's so incredibly attracted to the beautiful redhead who's going to be his 'partner' for the next year.

Sutton can't believe that she gets to spend time with this gorgeous piece of male perfection.

She does believe that his image needs to be polished. He can be horribly rude and unkind. And he's brutally honest. Always.
That's how she knows that he's extremely attracted to her. Just like she is to him.

But there's still Brandon - her ex, who's trying to win her back. But her heart and more importantly her body doesn't really care much for Brandon ... only Alex!

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO ALEX AND SUTTON????
WiLL THE TWO OF THEM GET THEiR HEA?
WiLL THERE BE A CLiFFHANGER???

I'm not telling you that of course...

ALEX was a really cute and sweet and moving and sexy romance.
Unfortunately it was nothing that I haven't read a dozen times before :(
I've read so many cute and sexy hockey romances by Rachel Gibson and Deirdre Martin - and I loved them all.... So of course I loved ALEX too, how can you not love a book about an amazingly hot athlete?? ☺

And it really didn't bother me much that this wasn't anything new.... it did have some different topics with Sutton having a drug addict as a father and Alex and his controlling idiot of a Dad. It wasn't all happy, happy, hearts and flowers. There were some real problems here that our two darlings had to go through to get to their HEA ...

It was so cute to see how Alex changed from being a rude 'I-don't-care-about-anything-or-anyone' guy to this sweet guy who could see himself falling in love with a girl. He, who never had a relationship in his life!

I loved the scenes with Sutton's brother and how happy he was, even when he just got the smallest of gifts. Great boy.

And of course I loved Garrett - how he just doesn't care about Alex's reputation and wants to be his friend ☺ I can't wait to see what Ms Bennett will come up with for him. Must be some woman for him to give up his serial-hookups ☺

ALEX  - was a very cute and sexy and funny & moving Hockey-Romance!
You'll love it!!!!!

I am a huuuuuge ice hockey fan, but have never gotten to see a game live
(not many games in a small country town in Australia!!) but that is
going to be remedied in the next couple of months!!

So in the meantime, I will have to do with reading my books about it.
And Sawyer Bennett, you had me at "hockey star".

Sutton is the woman he is being forced to work with by the team
management, and he resents it - who wouldn't But the sparks that fly
the minute these two are in a room together can't be denied. Alex's
motives towards Sutton are pure - pure carnal lust!

Sutton is adorable, sweet and oh so strong. Hell, what girl wouldn't
want a super sexy sports star chasing her? I loved how she was
with Alex. She made him think, made him question himself, made him
look at things in a different way.

Oh, and let's not forget the sexy times! Hooooey they are hot! Like
steam up your kindle hot!! Sports star = stamina!!

I adored Sutton's family, especially her little brother Glenn. Such an
old head on a young kid. he is not a whiney 11 year old who wants
everything he sees, and you just know he is going to be an amazing man.
I also love how he gets Alex pretty much wrapped around his little
finger from the minute he meets him.

So, can Alex and Sutton make it? Can they overcome the
differences in their position in life? Or are their differences the thing
that make them absolutely perfect for each other? How will they
deal with the sports groupies? Will they get their HEA?

Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself!!

There are some great secondary characters. I love love LOVE
Alex's team mate Garrett. He is just the best! He is a smart arse,
a bit whorish, but he is great for Alex, and when things happen, he is
a huge advocate for Alex and Sutton getting together. I
cannot wait for Garrett's story!
Oh, and there is a wonderful homage to the movie Love Actually
in this book and this brought the biggest grin to my face as I
read it.

I have loved all of Sawyer Bennett's works that I have read so far,
and I know I will ready everything I can get my hands on in
the future.

USA Today Best-Selling Author, Sawyer Bennett is a snarky southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head. She is married to a mobster (well, a market researcher) and they have two big, furry dogs who hog the bed. Sawyer would like to report she doesn't have many weaknesses but can be bribed with a nominal amount of milk chocolate.
