Blog Tour Stop - All The Pretty Poses (Pretty #2) by M. Leighton

He never wanted to be a herountil she needed him to be.

Strength

It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it.  But she did.  Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dreamto dance with the Altman American Dance Theater.  Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.

That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just cant refuse.  In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, hell get her an audition with the famous dance troupe.  All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese.  That sounds easy enough, right?

Weakness

Reese doesnt want to make it easy for Kennedy.  Seeing her again has started a fire in his bloodan unwelcome one.  It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan.  Its simple:  Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life.  That sounds easy enough, right?

But the one thing Reese didnt plan for was Kennedy herselfa girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her.  To save her.  Even if he has to save her from himself.
ARC RECEIVED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

All the Pretty Poses follows on from All The Pretty Lies (Sloane and Hemi's story) and is a story of love, loss and second chances.  I for one have not read All The Pretty Lies, however this did not at all affect my reading of All The Pretty Poses.

When she was 15, Kennedy fell in love with Harrison "Reece" Spencer, and he went and broke her heart.

14 years down the track,  their world's collide in a big way. And right at that moment they know that it cannot be the end for them.

Ive loved you from the moment I met you. For fourteen years, Ive loved you. And Ill love you for a million more.

Reese.... I was in a quandry about Reese.  I think Kennedy put it best when she describes him:

Rich.  Handsome,  Priviliged. Heartless.

He is that and a lot more throughout most of the book.  And I wanted to yell at him

He makes her an offer he knows she can't refuse, no matter how much she wants to .  And she doesn't refuse.

And just as she is starting to trust him, and maybe fall for him again (or more, since she never really got over him) his other women get flaunted in her face.

Reese sells a lifestyle as such.  Cruises for the rich and horny men around town, and is dragging her into it.... or is he?

Kennedy and Reese are a lot more complex than you would think on face value alone, and Ms Leighton has woven their stories into an emotional rollercoaster of book.
Kennedy has had some tragedies in her lifetime, and they have shaped her into the woman she is today. She has overcome them for the most part but they still affect her to this day.

Reese, while it seems that he has had the perfect privileged upbringing, his story shows that all that glitter is not gold.

OMG his family!  I truly loved some of them and truly despised others!  And boy did they take us on some rides.  The story with his family had more twists and turns than a crazy straw!!  It was like reading an episode of Days of Our Lives!

While All the Pretty Poses had it's fair amount of drama, misunderstanding and tragedies, it also had a fair share of the comedic.

Kennedy's banter with Sig - heck, Sig's banter with everyone had me laughing out loud at times.  The way they worked at making Reese all jealous was fantastic.

So even though I didn't like Reese for a while as I read, I was kind of a cheerleader for them to get together.  And do they get together?  Will they have they HEA they deserved years ago?  Can they forgive each other for the sins of the family and mistakes of the past.

For that you are going to have to read for yourself.

I have read other series by Ms Leighton, and I have yet to be disappointed in anything she has written. She has a knack of drawing the reader into the lives of her characters, and leaving us wanting more.

I will definitely be reading more of her work in the future.
